It explains in detail how to design and construct a model railway in a convincing and pleasing landscape. Important aspects of all stages of construction are covered, including the building of satisfactory baseboards, topography and ground cover, modelling lakes and waterfalls, and making realistic trees. Modeling Forest Scenic Beauty

by Thomas Capnor Brown, Modeling Forest Scenic Beauty Book available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Modeling Forest Scenic Beauty books, Statistical models are presented which relate near-view scenic beauty of ponderosa pine stands in the Southwest to variables describing physical characteristics. The models suggest that herbage and large ponderosa pine contribute to scenic beauty, while numbers of small and intermediate-sized pine trees and downed wood, especially as slash, detract from scenic beauty. Areas of lower overstory density and less tree clumping were preferred. Moderate harvest of relatively dense stands tends to improve scenic beauty once the stand has recovered from obvious harvest effects. The recovery period can be greatly reduced by slash cleanup.

Book Description:

Materials And Craft Of The Scenic Model

by Darwin Reid Payne, Materials And Craft Of The Scenic Model Book available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Materials And Craft Of The Scenic Model books, This is the first full-length textbook devoted totally to the craft and materials involved in preparing one of the stage designer's most important presentations --the scenic model. Though scenic models are not a new development in the theatre--Leonardo da Vinci used them for the spectacles he was commissioned to design--it has been only recently that they have all but superseded scenic sketches, primarily because the three-dimensional model more closely resembles the image realized on the actual stage. Materials and Craft of the Scenic Model thus fills a distinct and major need for teaching the art and craftsmanship a designer must have to make scenic models. Through diagrams, sketches, and models, along with explications of the essential tools and materials required, Payne defines and delineates the precise step-by-step procedures of scenic-model making: the basic preparations of construction, the process of making the model, and the experimental aspects of model making. Because designers must sometimes show their work by way of photographs, the author has included instructions on how a scenic model should be photographed.
